Delete your account

For Offshore Safety Manager, operated by DTI Consulting FZ-LLC. You do not need to sign in to read this page.

How to delete your account

  • In the App: open your profile, choose Delete Account and confirm.
  • In the web version: sign in at offshore.dticonsultancy.com, open your profile, choose Delete Account and confirm.
  • By email: if you cannot sign in, write to info@dticonsultancy.com from the email address of your account, with your company name and the words "Delete my account". We confirm your identity and complete the deletion, or tell you why we cannot, within 30 days.
  • A company manager can also remove a person from the company, which deletes their account in the same way.

What is deleted

  • Your account: name, email address, phone number, city, role, profile photo and password.
  • Your sign-in sessions on every device, your push notification registrations and your notification settings.
  • Your SOS key on your phone, and any alert emails to you that were not yet sent.
  • Copies of your own documents (for example certificate photos or PDFs), and the reference numbers and restrictions on your document records.
  • Your training, quiz and instruction progress, and the safety observations you recorded.
  • On your phone, everything the App stored for you, once the server confirms the deletion.

What the company keeps, and how it is anonymised

Some records belong to the company you work for, because they are its safety record. The company keeps them, but your name, phone number and email address are taken off: they show a label such as "Former user #A1B2C3" instead, so they no longer say who you were. What is kept, with your name replaced by a label:

  • Checks, including fit for work declarations (answers, notes and photos), pre-use checks, equipment and operator stops and their history, manager reviews, and defects and their sign-offs.
  • Near misses you reported or reviewed, and corrective actions you owned, made, completed or verified, with their notes and photos. Any text in them that named you is changed too.
  • Toolbox talks you led, and the attendance you gave: it stays as the company's training record, and the name you typed as your signature is replaced.
  • Hour-meter readings from your checks and from equipment you edited, and the thorough examination (LOLER) and other equipment records you entered or checked.
  • SOS, missed check-in and test alerts about you and every step of their history, the alert emails that were sent (with your name, number and address removed), check-in timers and SOS presses you cancelled.
  • Location points of an alert or check-in timer, under the retention rule in the Privacy Policy (the first and last point stay; the points in between are deleted 30 days after they were received).
  • Your documents: their type, issue and expiry dates, and the history of checks and refusals. The copies, reference numbers and restrictions are deleted, and the expiry reminders already sent are kept.
  • Your shift start and end times.
  • Equipment history you wrote, and the equipment IDs you were first to type on a check.
  • The company's billing event logs, kept for accounting. They are not linked to your account, but can still contain the payment provider's copy of an event, which may include an email address.
  • Duty history (who held the Maintenance or Health and Safety duty, and when), and site emergency numbers you confirmed.
  • Safety notices you sent, and your read receipts for notices (they prove which words reached you).
  • Checklists, courses and work instructions you created, and the company's name if sign-up gave it your name.

Free text that other people typed into a record is kept as written, except in near misses, corrective actions and toolbox talks, where text that named you is changed. A name typed into a safety notice is kept too (the notice stays exactly as sent). Rarely, an earlier name of yours may remain in an old alert step. The times your phone recorded for checks, observations and notices, and when your phone last synced, stay with those records. You are also removed as a contact from every alert list. More detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Things to know first

  • Deletion is refused while: you have an SOS or check-in alert that is still open (a test alert counts too; a contact or manager closes it with an outcome, and a missed check-in also closes when the person checks in); you have acknowledged an alert that is still open (another responder or a manager must close it); or a check-in timer of yours has passed its deadline (check in, or a contact closes the alert). Try again afterwards.
  • If you are the only Advanced (manager) user of your company and other people are still members, you cannot delete your account yet. First make another member Advanced (Members, then Mark as Advanced), or remove the other members.
  • If you are the only member of your company, deleting your account closes the company and deletes its data. If the company has a live subscription (one that has not ended), this is refused until the subscription has ended: your company's manager handles that, or write to us and we help.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: your company's manager handles that.
  • Our service providers keep their own short delivery logs (for example for email and push notifications). Backups are kept for up to 35 days.
  • You can sign up again later with the same email address, but as a new account with no history.
